Team Adem is truly humbled by the incredible support we received during our 2015 World’s Greatest Shave Campaign. Once again Team Adem was one of Australia’s largest fundraisers. We would like to sincerely thank all our Team Members, Supporters, Sponsors & especially the Schools who helped make our 2015 Shave Campaign such a success. Funds raised will make a profound difference to the lives of many patients and families affected by a Blood Cancer diagnosis. Proceeds will also be used to fund vital research projects for improved treatment options. Since 2011 Team Adem and its supporters have raised over $470 000 for the Leukaemia Foundation of Qld.Thanks everyone for Helping us Help Others.
The 7 Sunshine Coast Marathon is dedicated to benefitting the community, and in addition to being a world-class running event, 100% of event profits go to charitable organisations and local community groups. Recently Team Adem was honoured to be the recipient of a $2000 donation from the 7 Sunshine Coast Marathon. This generous donation will… help us continue to bring greater awareness to the importance of blood donation and assist us in the purchase of much needed items for seriously ill children accommodated at RMHC in Brisbane. Since its inception, the 7 Sunshine Coast Marathon has returned more than $500 000 in funds for charities and we at Team Adem hope that this year is the most rewarding one yet – for both runners and the charities and groups they so generously support. Team Adem visited the Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland in Brisbane on Thursday 26th and donated four portable cots and sheet sets to be used by babies/toddlers or their siblings who are currently undergoing treatment at the nearby Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital. Pictured with Lu is one of the lovely staff members, Tamara who said “within hours of receiving the cots- they were in use.” We are proud to be able to help such a worthy organisation as RMHC.
The Leukaemia Foundation’s biggest fundraiser, World’s Greatest Shave, is bold, bright and of course lots of fun. In this video Miranda is featured doing her 2014 shave at Chancellor State College in honour of her brother Adem and other Blood Cancer patients.
Funds that we raised at the Team Adem Christmas Wrapping Stall in December at the Maroochydore Homemaker Centre went into purchasing useful items for our Team Adem Care Packs. Brent and Lu had the privilege to present the 1st load of Care Packs to Leukaemia Foundation of Queensland staff members Barbie and Marie on Friday January 30th. All packs will be distributed to newly diagnosed patients in all 3 Brisbane LF Accommodation Villages. Thank you to all our volunteers and customers who made this possible.
We are extremely excited to announce that many nurses/staff from the Cancer Care Unit at the Royal Brisbane Women’s Hospital have joined Team Adem’s Blood Donation Community. Their team name is “RBWH Cancer Care for Team Adem” and they have been encouraging staff & friends to roll up their sleeves and donate blood. Many of these nurses treated Adem during his battle with Leukaemia.

Last Week we re-visited the Leukaemia Foundation Accommodation Village in Coopers Plain Brisbane where we lived for 18 months during Adem’s illness. On behalf of Team Adem and in memory of Adem we presented a new Table Tennis Table and accessories to the activity room at the village. We know that this will be well used for many years to come by patients and families who are currently living there and by those Queenslanders who will unfortunately be diagnosed in the future. As always thank you for helping us help others.
We are proud to announce that the 2015 Adem Crosby Haematology Nursing Award is now open.
